Only ALTERNATIVE PRODUCERS providing UP TO a quarter of new electricity demands is going to lower our energy costs??? I was sickened and disgusted in 2008 when my gutless (republican controlled) legislature passed that monopolistic legislation that helped to derail plans for a clean coal plant in Midland which could really have impacted regional electrical costs and the regional economy. I we are really interested in lowering electricity rates then we need to go back to the 2000 legislation and find ways to improve the framework for a competitive market on that basis.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

Re: 2012 House Bill 5503 (Limit electric utility monopolies (expand competition))

This bill is long overdue.
