End of life directives are not the state's business.  Voluntary or not, this is government over-reach.  End of life directives are easily drawn up and in use today.  There is no charitable reason that the government needs to insert itself in this process.

And why does the government need to be involved in this?

This is scary, makes me think of the death panel discussions that took place when Obamacare passed.

And why does the law exempt the organization running the registry & its employees from civil suits based on the accuracy of the registry?  If they screw it up and someone is harmed because of it, they should be held accountable!

New word for the 2012 election year: "Flexibility" which means "Thank you comrade" in Russian.

What part of "voluntary" don't people understand? Besides, this is a republican bill. They wouldn't interfere in people's private affairs, now would they? :)

The state really wants to know your business.  But it's voluntary... so that's ok?  NO.

I guess well have to deal with this repeatedly not that internet is here to stay. I only hope this information the state needs will be kept in safe national security database files, I don't want to think about the risk of these files falling into the wrong hands...
