NO! NO! NO! The people of MI are taxed enough already. Make budget cuts to find the money you "need".

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
So, if you live in a rural area with roads that are falling apart, your additional taxes are going to go outside your area. Additionally, the Pure Michigan travel campaign touts the backroads and natural beauty...how will people get there if the money is kept on the interstate system?
And how can the state expect to keep piling the financial load on the backs of those who are already dealing with gas tax increases, education increases, income tax increases, cost of living increases, when is enough... enough? Learn how to make the government work for the people, don't make the people work for the government.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
I understand that we need funds to fix the roads in Michigan. However, this state has had high unemployment. Those who do work are making significantly less than previously. Furthermore, those of us throughout Michigan require a vehicle to get to and from work as no public transportation is available. Due to these factors, the increase cannot afford to be more than 10% per year. The percentages proposed are unreal and will do more harm than good. Additionally, if those costs are going to be increased to everyone - no matter where in Michigan the people live - then the funds need to be spread equally throughout ALL roads in Michigan. I certainly hope this bill fails, as it needs to, and that a new bill with these appropriate changes is provided: 1) No more than a 5 or 10% increase each year. 2) ALL roads are included for improvements.

Because the teabaggers are being funded by the Koch Brothers who have Bought several Legislatures including Senator Caswell whose sole purpose is to raise taxes on the elderly (retired educators who they 'hate'), the middle class and the poor while protecting and giving our tax money to business and exemptions to the weathy who contribute to their elections.......these are the "NEW Republicans" - the anti-democratic-anti-Americans.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
The irony of these tax increases, first on the pensioners, now on everyone who owns a vehicle, is that the people who put these Republicans in office based on their "get the government off our backs" tea party ideology, are the ones who are going to be hurt the most, while corporations and businesses enjoy tax relief.

If you Moron want to have all the money you can scrape your durity little hands on then you should go to a (PART TIME LEGISLATOR) and all of us will save money .
P.S. We don't need any increase in fees.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
Well, this year, tax refund anticipation loans may be harder to get than usual with all of the new laws from the CFPB. Many people count on that cash to help them pay bills they are behind on or for other emergency situations like fixing up an automobile. If you have to pay these bills or get your car fixed but cannot get a refund anticipation loan, a cash advance can help. It is almost the exact same thing except you pick the amount of the loan instead of getting a check depending on your tax refund. Get more info at: Payday Loan.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
Hey Jud or should it be "JUGHEAD" - how about taxing the tax on plates too!
I justy paid $286.00 on plates for 2 USED cars. One is 10 years old - the other is 5 years. I can't imagine what it would cost me for plates on a new car - IF I could afford one.
You and yor boss have taken money from my pension - what else do you want. I can hardly afford gasoline with all that tax and you want to bleed me more.
I can't wait till the next election when the voter realizes how much the Republican Party has helped the average person.
Hopefully you and many others have to go out and work for a living like the rest of us! Since Mr. Snyder has 'created' so many new jobs - you go out and get one - they all pay about $10.00 per hour. With that income you'll have to take a bus cause you won't be able to drive.
PS - you shoud be ashamed of yourself!

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
Just an added message - tell the Govenor to use the money from his sale of Gateway and all those lost jobs and pay this tax himself.
Boy did we get screwed but I guess we didn't pay attention when we voted - well next time - we all better wake up. It's the Republican motto - "take from the poor and give to the rich".
Like the Beatles song "There's gonna be a revolution...."

Yet another terrible idea. Michigan businesses and families are taxed enough already. Any further taxes and fees
cause hard working people to leave the state.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
The Tea Party of Michigan is with you on this one. If any Republicans support and vote for this registration increase they will be pri-maried their next re-election bids. That is a promise.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
This is quite an increase, I must admit. Usually, the government raises taxes step by step, little by little. But raising them with 67% seems too much. I pay enough for my Ford truck parts, now, to make things worse, I have to pay extra taxes. It's getting harder and harder to sustain a business this way.

I did not vote for this governor and I knew we were in for trouble when he won. Business backgrounds only protect businesses. Corporate greed at its best. No one in my family outside of my children listened and they all voted for him. We have to get the Republicans out now. Hope everyone like you has learned a big lesson. May be too late. I am looking to move out of state myself.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
That is what Republicans do. No one pays attention to what they do, they just vote party line. Not too smart. Republican voters think Democrats are going to take their guns away. Duh. No Democratic Governor has even looked that way and never will. Democrats are for the people, Republicans are for big business. When will you all learn. Vote Democratic if you care about the people......

So, if you live in a rural area with roads that are falling apart, your additional taxes are going to go outside your area? Of all the ways to improve the current legislation, this just seems the most tedious. In addition, travellers should take particular care if attempting to switch to a different insurer.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
I am begining to think that Lansing has decided that the way to cure the high unemployment rate is to make it so expensive to live here that everyone will leave. If thats true your doing a great job. next you'll be taxing the taxes.

I went to portfolio night and I loved the shoes ads, especially for those design your own loft services. I think that the latest style must haves are really cool and you don't really have to have a huge imagination to put them together. I think that it's better to invest in key clothing accessories, and I think any creative young person should go to portfolio night.

Re: 2012 House Bill 5300 (Increase state vehicle registration tax )
As a conservative myself.........if Gov. Snyder raises vehicle registration fees which are already very high......he will lose his next re-election bid. We will not vote for a Democrat but we will not vote for him either. The Republican Party better have someone in place of him if the party wants to remain Republican then.
