    This seems reasonable enough.

It is somewhat surprising this has not been a requirement all along.

I agree. Seems like no-brainer legislation to me. Should pass with little, if any, opposition.

Hard to understand (or believe) that this hasn't been the rule up until now. Its a necessity.

And what would that proof be? This is a solution looking for a problem, which doesn't exist.

It may not exist so much here, but I have family in AZ and CA and illegals voting in those states is a problem. I don't think showing your drivers license is too much to ask.

FreeRider.............you are spot on!  The only ones who will complain on this issue of having a true and authentic I.D. is a person or persons who don't have one.  This is how the liberal base operates and this is how Barack Obama wants to be remembered as.................as fraud and elected by frauds.

The "liberal base" operates on the idea that for years the poor and minorities were disenfranchised, and we shouldn't let that happen again. The idea that undocumented immigrants would risk exposure to vote is ludicrous, and has no basis in fact.

Mother gypsy - Illegals dont want to register to vote because once they do they are instantly paying taxes. I remember i had to apply for a SS # it was tattooed on your toe by the union nurses minutes after birth. - rtdb

Seems the repub's can't get that election thing straight. First Romney won, then Santorum won, now nobody won. Maybe they ought to let the undocumented immigrants count the ballots for them.

At least the illegals here in this country have a birth certificate to show everyone, unlike the fraud that you bow to every morning before you start your rough day at the desk sending e-mails.

His birth certificate has been shown to the world. Guess it's hard to see through the veil of fanaticism.

I guess you are lost again on this issue................He, your Messiah, "never" produced a true, live birth and "authentic" birth certificate.  A federal judge in Georgia (google this) will NOW see the truth.  Answer this one brilliant one:  Why has The Boy President spent over 2 million $$ of his own money, (after Solyndra donations, after Fisker donations, and 11 more bankrupt companies coming down the pike) to keep this birther thing "under raps".  Explain this one .

Illegals would work for a lot less money and make it that much harder for unions to collectively bargain.

I'm saying that Barack Obama will never go with this one.  Why?  The "State of Georgia just bounced Obama from their election ballot for 2012 because Barack "failed to appear" with his actual and real live birth certificate.  Six more states will follow as we speak.

The Georgia judge ruled that because Barack Obama was born in Hawaii he is a "natural born" citizen.

The Constitution is null and void.

...There are less than 11 months until election day when the people will decide who will be the next President of the United States …
The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It’s that time that we all need to come together, Democrats and Republicans alike.
    In a Bi-Partisan effort for America :

If you will support the Republican nominee, please drive with your headlights ON during the day.
If you support Barack Obama, please drive with your headlights OFF at night.
Together, we can make it happen.

Eric Holder and Barack Obama need to take a look at this one pertaining to voter ID:
