Top ten entitlement states in the Union

Here are the ten (10) states in the United States that provide entitlements to their citizens and non-citizens at the expense of the ones who are working.  Do you wonder why their taxes are so high and the states are going bankrupt? Will Michigan join the list and when?
    Here is the answer:

The Tax Foundation report, “State-Local Tax Burdens Fall in 2009 as Tax Revenues Shrink Faster than Income,” shows the extent of the differences. The most important reason for the variation is that some states generate a significant amount of their tax revenue from businesses and out-of-state residents, thereby minimizing the burden of taxes borne by residents. Alaska, for example, gets 80% of tax receipts from such sources. State residents get the equivalent of a subsidy from some of the world’s largest oil companies.

Young person (gypsy)..................S-P-E-N-D-I-N-G !  That my friend is the problem.  When you spend more $$ than you take in to run your government,  that is a/the problem.  Raising taxes "only" kicks the can down the street to yet another day when the same problem of not enough revenues has to be re-visited...........again!  The cities, the states, the country and the world has now come to this "visitation time".   Very simple to understand...unless you are entitlements and are one of the people who will argue otherwise.  This seems to be the case ...............or............you are a loon!

Again, I must confess to you I am not a young person. If you are using that description of me to confer on yourself some degree of maturity, you have certainly failed in that effort with your very immature post and name calling.

Raising enough taxes to allow government to fulfill it's constitutional duties has been done since this nation was conceived. The term entitlements is misused constantly by people of your political persuasion. Taxpayers are entitled to the programs they have paid for, and a majority have voted for, through representative democracy. That is how our government works. Until you and your kind can convince a majority of voters that our nation can survive if we remove all rules on business, let the poor and disabled die in the streets, and force workers to work for subsistence wages at unsafe jobs, it will not be "over" for the US.

Again...........raising taxes only kicks the can down the street "until" the next period of time in the future where the "same problem" arises.  Do you raise taxes again and kick the can again?  We, this country, this state, thi8s county, this city has reached the point of "NO MORE KICKING".  This is something that Obama, liberals like yourself and the rest of the entitlement culture can not deal with.  To wit:  Your posts tell us all what we need to know.

Answer one question then:  What is enough in taxes at the federal, state, county and city level "all together" is enough for a liberal whereas the can does NOT have to be kicked again?  If you are an Alinsky-ite you will reply I'm sure!

Try reading "The Road to Serfdom" by F.A. Hayek and then things will start to come around for the liberal, diseased mind.
