 Wow! Let's cost industry more money so maybe we can run a few more companies out of MIchigan - keep up the good work!

Do Democrats have to be so blatantly obvious over the fact that they know nothing about either business or trucks? The average heavy truck on the road is older than that-and every time Congress mandates yet another 'emmissions control' or 'fuel standard' the price of a new truck goes up and operating efficiency goes down! The only ones who can afford all these new trucks are the largest ATA carriers-and it destroys their slim profit margin big time. The small companies are forced to go out of business!

Further, these ridiculous stadards come out of California-and are still in the courts after four years! Just how much does he plan to put away for the State to fight all the lawsuits that are sure to come? Does he even know that the standards in California were based on the 'work' of an 'expert' who was found to have NO real degree-and no research to back it up?  Several parts have been thrown out by the courts. This kind of garbage should finish off Michigan's struggling manufacturing base entirely and destroy the value that will be added with a new Detroit River span. Many trucking companies no longer do business in CA because of this set of regulations. Out-of-state trucks will hesitate to come across a new bridge if they are forced to upgrade to this 'standard' . . .it will be cheaper to go 700 miles out of route!

It's starting to be very obvious that the entire intent of the Dem party is to assure that our economy never recovers!

The schools cannot leave guess who gets to pay for those updates................... 

To be vetted for a seat in Lansing a common sense quiz should be administered ......................

PS: oh yeah all those farmers are going to absorb the updates so there will be no raises in your food costs!!!!!!!

Rashida is full of great ideas.  Be sure to visit her House Bill 4901: Create “environmental justice” regulatory regime.

One does wonder how these people get elected, but you can be certain that she'd be unable to perform any job in the private sector.  Perhaps we should just be glad we're not paying her welfare.  Then again, that welfare money might be money well spent--if it kept Rashida at home, eating bon bons and watching soap operas, instead of proposing destructive and idiotic legislation!

Oh yeah.  Great idea.  That'll sure improve the business climate in Michigan.  How was this person (can't really determine sex based on name) ever elected to a public office?  

These restrictions on trucks are government over reaching.  The government should not be involved with this aspect of commercial life.  Some trucks, reefers, must run to keep the food contents cold or frozen while the truck is parked so this law would obviate its own impracticability.  It sounds like we have an over zealous legislator trying to "make his mark" with the democratic party.

Environmental justice is a euphemism for imposing draconian rules on society.

We should all agree that the time for change is here. Older big trucks and diesel regulations are a good start for that. I am thinking of acquiring some new body lift kits for my business, I think now it's time to do it, I'll know what to chose to fit into the legal terms.
