    You have got to be kidding me! -  "to give subsidies to particular businesses selected by political appointees and certain state agency officials. This one would be called the “Michigan Business Development Program”.

    What are you Sen. John Proos, IV (R) -  a clone of Jennifer Granholm?  Hmm?  Playing favorites again with our tax dollars?  Creating another tax sucking bureaucracy?  No thanks Senator John Proos!!!!

     Isn't this what the MEDC is already supposed to do?  Why add another influence-peddling commission to duplicate its work?  If anything, you should dissolve the MEDC since they don't really do anything effective.

    The other posters are right -- this governmental give-away game never works.

    Would this be similar to the Solyndra give-away? You give them millions of dollars and then they contribute to your political campaigns?

     No more subsidies of our tax dollars!!! Let the free market determine the winners and losers not a bunch of politicians playing favoritism with no knowledge of what does and does not work. . .

    More of the same crony Capitalism where government picks the winners and losers.  Expensive, unfair, foolish, wasteful and arrogant.
