Wow about a constitutional amendment that would make Michigan a Rigth To Work state? Screw the unions.

That would leave out federal employees, since they don't have bargaining rights for wages and other work conditions. Why should state employees have a right that is not the same for all workers. This seems to be a method to install card check. Nice going.

Sounds like a great way to make sure that those companies that haven't already left Michigan will pack up and go to a business friendly state. It's no surprise that it would be Genesee County Representatives pushing this type of legistlation. I guess the unemployment rate still isn't high enough for them in the Flint area.

All employers that have a collective bargaining agreement with their employees should be required to bargain with their union.

Those receiving welfare had better understand the a vote for Obama is wasted. "ACORN" is a planned Communist influenced orginization. They're directly following the teachings of Karl Marx. VERY SOON the money will run out and these welfare mooches will have to work for a living.
In Japan there is no welfare system. If one does not work then he, or she, can do without.

Re: 2011 House Joint Resolution S (Require all employers to bargain with unions )
A month ago, we joked when we said that for Obama to get the unemployment rate to negative by election time, all he has to do is to crush the labor force participation rate to about 55%. Looks like the good folks at the BLS heard us: it appears that the people not in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record 1.2 million. No, that’s not a typo: 1.2 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month!
So 1.17 million people leave the workforce and now we’re supposed to think Obama is this great job creator and he’s turning the economy around? What a joke. This fallout of workers is actually a new record.

Gypsy-agree both sides have a real mess now just remember those folks are running for seats that will ultimately benefit themselves no change will save this land changes like I have made save business are long overdue however, those will not come in time. what is needed is more pot growers so they can tax that to pay for all the freebies there handing out.
Side note with the 4.2 million dollar Chrysler add i could have put several hundred people to work overnite. however we all needed to know it was halftime, in AmeriKA. but its beyond halftime its 4th and 9 trillion, plus.
Solution : Cut out what is creating the tax increases.

we are busy with work but the work is low margin and will have an effect on your claim of growing the economy, it is still not headed correctly for long term growth by any means.
I can throw all kinds of money at something and say look its working when it really isnt doing anything to pay down the long term debt.

Re: 2011 House Joint Resolution S (Require all employers to bargain with unions )
I know how much you would like to be able to say nothing the President has done is working, but the facts are there. The economy is growing, but at a slow rate, and unemployment is going down, but also at a slow rate. This is a result of the lack of construction due to the housing bubble bursting back in 2007, closely followed by the banking crisis in 2008. Housing usually leads us out of recession, but not this time. The bubble has damaged housing for years to come, with a huge inventory, and the banking crisis means loans will be hard to get for many years. Combine all of that with our 2 decade loss of manufacturing and we are in deep dodo. It is a wonder we are moving in the right direction at all. You're on with that wager.

Well gypsy see if you can understand this. Unemployment is not down. People have given up looking for work or have exhausted their unemployment benefits. Thus they are no longer counted as being unemployed.

The unemployment rate is calculated by counting the people actively looking for work. I understand that, and I expect you do to. It's calculated this way whether Obama is President or Bush is. Certainly there are people who have given up looking for work and made other arrangements in their lives to get by. They will likely re-enter the actively seeking work group when more jobs become available.

(provided by another person):
If they used the same method to calculate unemployment that was used when Clinton was President, it would be over 10%. One figure I found really interesting was if you look at the raw data, not the doctored numbers, the number of people with jobs DROPPED from the end of 2011 to now, by about 2 MILLION.
Are we all aware that a lot of part timers are let go after the Holidays.
Is there the logic where a 2 million job loss is a drop in unemployment and a net gain in jobs? The left wing spin knows no boundry.

Re: 2011 House Joint Resolution S (Require all employers to bargain with unions )
U-3 — This is what BLS calls the “official unemployment rate.” It represents unemployed workers who are actively searching for a new job. That’s the 8.3 percent rate that made headlines last week.
U-4 — This is the total unemployed plus “discouraged workers.” Discouraged workers are those who have given up looking for a job because they are convinced there aren’t any available for them. It was 8.9 percent in January.
U-5 — This is the total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus “other persons marginally attached to the labor force.” The marginally attached are people who are neither working nor looking for work, but indicate they want and are available for a job and have looked for work sometime in the last year. But they aren’t counted as unemployed, because they didn’t actively search for work in the last four weeks. That rate was 9.9 percent in January.
U-6 — This is the catch-all of the lot. It includes all of the above groups — total unemployed, discouraged workers and the marginally attached — plus part-time workers who say they would like to be working more, but for economic reasons could only find part-time work. It was 15.1 percent in January.
One other point: All of the measures, U-3 through U-6, have been generally trending downward — albeit not dramatically — for more than a year. The U-6 figure, currently at 15.1 percent, is down 2.1 percentage points from its peak in October 2009.

Gypsy - That is admirable ive been waiting to hear the truth, not being enslaved to carry the fight for someone who does not care about you or me.
pause on the political agenda - momentarily and think of family and freedom ------ okay now add how much you think that the white house loves you and your family , compared to our tax dollars. They certainly love ours and are always asking for more so we cant give it to the employees.
I say vote them all out , Ill run for president because we probably have enough experienced people to run this country we sure as heck couldn't do any worse.
in closing we are punished for making money the entire reason persons take that initial risk, you think the world needed a toilet paper holder, nope they were made to make money, I love my family, friends, and people who invent things, I just happen to make them.

rtdb..... You haven't waited to hear the truth. You just didn't know it when you heard it. I don't need for the White House, or Congress, or any politician to love me or my family. They need to serve the needs and interest of it's citizens. That's the responsibility of any government. In order for them to be able to do that, we need to pay taxes. In order for paying taxes to be fair, those with the most need to pay the most. We have set up in this country a pretty fair system of doing that. I suppose like you I would love keeping all my income and not paying any taxes. But what would our society be like then? Anarchy. Don't tell me someone would build a road, or a bridge, or a school if it didn't serve their needs first. No, I'll keep the system we have, and vote and support politicians who serve the interest of us all, from the poorest to the richest. Paying taxes is not a punishment, it is your patriotic duty.

MRS GYPSY - you still dont get it at all with the smoke and mirrors, and a steady campaign of taxing the rich is a real negative approach if the rich were taxed 100% it would still not be enough to cover the freebies and spending of our current administration. IT MUST STOP .
I pay a great deal in taxes and when i buy something nice with the monie ive made, peolpe are employed where that was made be it a plane, boat, truck, camper, or a machine to make more money. - you could be a bigger asset to the American dream than you realize.

Re: 2011 House Joint Resolution S (Require all employers to bargain with unions )
We conservatives would like to put forth our final statement to the citizens of the United States pertaining to the way this country is headed and the elections in November 2012:
A. If you love your entitlements that someone else pays for please vote for Barack Obama, liberal Senators like Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin and any Congressperson who has a progressive/liberal ideology. Remember this! The moeny that "someone else pays for" eventually runs out because revenues are just not there to collect. Then what? Stagnation of a huge country is what follows.
B. If you want this great country to have its ups and downs, growth and correction periods but produces positive growth and keeping America strong and prosperous going forward, places America's exceptionalism at the top, then vote for your national and state conservatives.
Remember this: Chosing "A" above has the effect to bring a complete breakdown of the economy, usher in socialism where citizens will decide to not work for a living and just live on subsistance from the central government, much like Cuba. Supporters of this system will re-elect every time these same people to govern them which brings complete government "cronyism". If that is what you want........vote Democratic! Enjoy your lives which will forever be changed!
Also remember this: Taxing the rich to the "extreme" and above the norm of society will not help one bit and will only drive these people to other countries willing to accept their funds and assests. It happens all the time in the world. Where do rich rulers, despots and owners of totalitatian regimes go to now? They do not stay in their own self created socialist society(s).

Re: 2011 House Joint Resolution S (Require all employers to bargain with unions )
the U.S. Treasury Department boosted its estimate of government losses in the $85 billion auto bailout by $170 million.
In the government’s latest report to Congress this month, the Treasury upped its estimate to $23.77 billion, up from $23.6 billion.
Last fall, the government dramatically boosted its forecast of losses on the rescues of General Motors Co., Chrysler Group LLC and their finance units from $14 billion to $23.6 billion.
That is $23.6 billion that was taken away from other uses in the economy and used to prop up business plans that were proved failures. That is $23.6 billion that cannot be invested in business plans that could and would succeed. That is $23.6 billion used to give favored businesses an unfair advantage against Ford Motor Company. That is $23.6 billion that will choke off funding to thousands of other businesses effectively strangling them in the cradle. That is $23.6 billion used to create a zombie corporation raised from the dead but not made healthy. That is $23.6 billion used to undermine creative destruction, the engine of growth in modern capitalism. That is $23.6 billion of your money used by the Administration to reward favored constituencies and punish those who are not favored. That is $23.6 billion of venture socialism.

rtdbussiness(sic).... Maybe your tv was broken, or you were watching sesame street when c-span was televising the hearings when the auto companies were presenting their plea for help to Congress. That was the ceo of Ford sitting next to the ceo of GM and Chrysler asking for loans. He certainly didn't feel that saving GM or Chrysler was giving them unfair advantage. He wanted them saved to preserve the supplier network. Statements like this that you make really incline me to think you are sitting in a basement eating fritos living a life by proxy on the internet.

gypsy - you should probably copy and paste the whole articles direct from the internet for it is not your knowledge of that feature that makes you strong. it is though inaccurate to make claims that are not supported by the actual words spoken. to put this in the proper perspective below is some facts, and please respect the fact for the statements made they are true to the word and dont provide a liberal spin or excuse for bailing out gm. You also will notice that ford made the statement to drive transformational change in our Comany, unlike that of GM or Chrysler.
Mulally, Dec. 5, 2008: In addition to our plan, we are also here today to request support for the industry. In the near-term, Ford does not require access to a government bridge loan. However, we request a credit line of $9 billion as a critical backstop or safeguard against worsening conditions as we drive transformational change in our company.
also read this : The Automotive Industry Financing Program — which was created under the Troubled Asset Relief Program — provided $79.69 billion to GM, GMAC and Chrysler. So far, they have paid back a little more than half of the money, or about $40 billion, according to Treasury’s daily report for Sept. 16 on TARP funds
And this gypsy : Any supplier would have welcomed the increase in work from the loss of gm we did and we survived. as well as the combination of dealerships guess they would be selling fords. and you always leave out the big picture ALLY Bank. OBAMa owns 73% of that ever wonder why? 2009 200 billion financed. on gm alone. you gypsy are a small unmeasureable person without any statistics to your internet data. your voice isnt that of one with experience and wisdom tater thank you for driving and supporting a ford what color super duty you want.
