Here is my concern for this bill. The intent is to fire ineffective teachers. On the surface that sounds reasonable to the public. The problem with this bill is how do school districts evaluate art, special education, music, pysical education, spanish, computer teachers? People think of classroom teachers but the bill would include all teachers. The second problem with the bill is what is in place to stop administration from putting the lowest achieving students in a teachers classroom. The district could choose the higher seniority, higher paid teacher and conviently place lower achieving students in their rooms to be able to get rid of them. A cost savings to the district. Even though that teacher may not be one the bill is intended to "weed" out. There are other consequences with this bill that are not good. This bill is not well thought out. On the surface it sounds good to the public but has other non-intended implications.
