Wow. So the message is clear: State legislators want cushy 'retirement' benefits while the rest of the state is in the worst financial condition in its history. Hey, here's another idea: since you seem to love your own financial gain at the expense of the poorest among us, how about we find ways to make the destitute pay even AFTER you have stopped their welfare or unemployment checks? Since you seem bent on giving yourselves big benefits while passing legislation that puts a lifetime limit on state welfare, how about we make this growing group of permanently unemployed people pay more money at every turn? I can forsee a 'pay as you go' tax for everyone on a public street. How about a 'Sit in a park, pay me NOW' tax? And lets not forget a 'You are unable to feed or wash your kids, and I am uncomfortable.. so pay a TAX' tax. That way, we can make sure the permanently unemployed are paying their fair share of your retirement health coverage for your 4 or 8 long years of service, which you so clearly deserve.
In all honesty, I am stunned that so many of you are so deplorable. I am not sure I can ever vote for any of you again. Please email me as I requested on the phone Sean McCann. If you do not have a good explanation, I'm afraid you will have a tough time getting my support in the future.
