Do we really want an individual with a mail-order degree practicing psychology in Michigan?  My suggestion is that if we are going to tamper with this Public Act we should look at two things.  First, we should not allow limited licensed individuals to call themselves "psychologists" regardless of where they work.  Currently, persons employed by the State of Michigan who have a masters degree in psychology or a related field are using the title "psychologist".  They tell me that they are not governed by the same set of standards as persons in private practice.  They are "limited licensed psychologist" not "psychologists".  Next, these "limited licensed psychologists" working for the State of Michigan are not required to receive on-going clinical supervision from a "licensed psychologist".  I would think that the people making the laws would have the good sense to impose their will and govern fairly.  If we are cutting corners in our state institutions (i.e., Community Health, Corrections, Human Services, and even Management and Budget) are our elected officals really concerned about the quality of services that our mentally ill, incarcerated, and at risk families are getting?

If I understand correctly the law is meant to protect the public health sector by ensuring that the ones practicing psychology have completed accredited education institutions. I am an masters in public administration graduate and I really think the law is fair and it is protecting the patient. Anyways, those who attend any higher education program should check the validity of their studies before choosing any program, just in case they are not accredited.

I totally agree with the above state written here. My case in Oakland County Circuit Court became a mess because a judge relying on a "Limited License Psychologist" who misdiagnose me in my case to justify the verdict that she gave prior to the psychological evaluation. I am studying psychology, and I will be getting my counseling psychology degree from a well known accredited University.

Unfortunately biased decisions are everywhere inside our political system, in fact I don't think there is such a thing in the whole world as a perfect political system. I am however concerned about these decisions are made, they should be validated by another authority in order to increase the accuracy. I am also studying for my master's fegree in psychology and I hope by the time I'll get to do my job things will be different.
