I think the key word here is "scheme".  All the state house can do is come up with schemes, and tricks instead of real solutions to non existent problems.

Get out of the Environmentals pockets and use your heads for a change.  Do you check your "Common Sense" at the cloak room when you walk into the chamber?

Look at the science and the history of this planet.  I really believe it is pretty presumptuous of you and others like you to think that we can greatly affect the climate of our world by cars, cow farts, and the other goofy things you come up with.  One volcanic  eruption puts more emissions in the air than we have in 100 years.

I think the "hot air" that comes out of Lansing and Washington should be taxed also, so include that in your cap and trade.

These legislators obviously have worked hard to devise schemes to totally tank what economy we have left in Michigan!! They ALL need to be 'retired from office' if they cant do any better than this!!

This sounds like a reasoned approach to reducing carbon admissions. If one truly does look at the history and science of our planet, one would readily see the effect carbon has on our atmosphere and the life here.

Most legislation is reasonable with dinosaur brains and lizard logic.  The whole issue of climate change is a tremendous fraud against the American people and I would hope Michigan Legislators have the intelligence and courage to reject any kind of cap and trade legislation that will continue to tank our economy.  Guess what.  All energy derivatives except nuclear and solar are derived from carbon and to cap carbon is to cap industry.  Democrats destroyed nuclear power with their regulatory legislation and no refineries have been built in the US since the 1970s.  Grandholm thinks the "magic bullet" is solar and wind farms.  Solar only works during the day and wind only when we have a werather pattern of low pressure . . . intermittent at best.  Michigan is a high tax state and that is why there is a net migration away from here.

Climate change is a farce, a falacy a mistruth, a misconception and an outright deceipt created by people who stand to make a TON of money off of their fear-mongering. And once again the Dems searching for a new way to TAX jump on the bandwagon! If you steal from one company and force them to give it to another those costs will be passed on to consumers.

    The science is clear

Scientists are no longer debating the basic facts of climate change. In February 2007, the thousands of scientific experts collectively known as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that there is greater than 90 percent likelihood that people are causing global warming. (IPCC, 2007)

These latest findings amplify what other highly respected science organizations say:

    • In a joint statement with 10 other National Academies of Science, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences said:
"The scientific understanding of climate change is now sufficiently clear to justify nations taking prompt action. It is vital that all nations identify cost-effective steps that they can take now, to contribute to substantial and long-term reduction in net global greenhouse gas emissions."—Joint Statement of Science Academies: Global Response to Climate Change, 2005
    • The American Geophysical Union, a respected organization comprising over 41,000 Earth and space scientists, wrote in its position on climate change that "natural influences cannot explain the rapid increase in global near-surface temperatures observed during the second half of the 20th century."

This is just another unjust tax imposed on us by the democrates. Global warming is a fraud. Climate is always changing and will continue to do so for the next million years.

I hope all you voters out there that backed democrats are now happy. Granholm and her cronies have truly "Blown us away"

Carbon cap and trade is just another tax which will not solve global warming.  You don't play with the power to raise taxes when there is a serious crisis.  If the powers that be really believe that global warming is the threat that some scientists claim it to be, and a man made one at that, then we would be building nuclear power plants everywhere as fast as possible.  But we are not doing that.  We shy away from nuclear power and instead we play with windmills and taxes.  So how can we be expected to take the doomsday claims seriously?

Please send the likes of  Rep. Lee Gonzales (D) to the ends of the earth with their social engineering "Cap and Trade" theories.  The cost of this would be laid on all of the consumers in higher costs and the loss of more jobs.

Ignore the existence of the problem, and no solution is needed.
