Won't pass. This is the era of Big Brother and Big Government. They know what's best for us.

Does that mean if a person does not choose to have coverage and cannot afford treatment they go untreated?  Or do my tax dollars then fund that person's medical care?

This has been introduced to make a political (and false) point -- to stir fears and emotions for the sake of political advantage rather than foster sound public policy.  For shame.

    Meaningless.

We need more recognition that healthcare is a personal responsibility, not a government-endowed right.

Not a government endowed right, but a resposibility of the government to the people by promoting the general welfare.

Providing healthcare for it's citizens is certainly conducive to our general welfare.

My tax dollars to pay some generational welfare expert and bums healthcare so the expert/bum can live longer and healthier lives is not conducive to the general welfare.

This affirms my right to not participate in mandated government insurance plans. Amen for that!

Are "tax dollars" different than insurance dollars? Our insurance dollars are paying to treat poor people, or as some call them, "generational welfare experts and bums". These insurance dollars, known as premiums, are going up because the people that can afford insurance are paying for those who cannot. They will continue to rise until there are not enough people able to afford them to keep the system solvent. More people will die, more will be sick, and the insurance companies will profit. There is no independent healthcare. You either can afford it, or you can't. How does an "option", as in public option, get interpreted as taking anyones right to pay insurance companies exorbiant premiums away. If you don't want to buy government insurance, don't. I would like the freedom of an option.

This bill is another solution looking for a problem.

Would not free food, Free housing, Free cable TV, A free car. Free clothing,  Free utilities, Free College, provided by government, for all  be conducive to our general welfare.Cool
