More regulation for the good of the people.  The net result of this law would be the elimination of many church and non-profit babysitting facilities because of the addition expense and hassle.  Then children would be subject to worse conditions at less supervised babysitters.  Please quit protecting us and our children and let us do it ourselves.

Okay, so let me get this straight- what exactly constitutes "non-profit babysitting facilities"? Will the church playroom and nursery need to be closed because there is no "viewing window" and the bathroom is over 15 feet down the hall? Who thinks up this crap? Is your bathroom over 15 feet from the room in your house where you watch your children? What about at school? There are only 1 set of bathrooms on each floor at jackson high and I know that is more that 15 feet from most classrooms! Also, have you EVER seen a "VIEWING WINDOW" in any daycare, preschool, nursery, school, etc ANYWHERE? This is as about retarted as it gets! Granted, our church has a restroom on each floor- However, only 1 room per floor would be within the 15 foot rule, and maybe not even then. Totally weird. I just don't understand the purpose of this bill. What about the seperation of church and state? Are we going to have to no longer hold choir practice and no longer have a choir because the nursery is out of compliance with state law? Who do these legistatures think they are to have the right to "protect us from ourselves"? If I weren't comfortable with the set up of my church nursery and playroom, I wouldn't use the services of the volunteers there. We also have a place in town that is a respite and supervised visit location. It is an old house that was converted. The restroom is over 15 feet from the play room and there is no viewing window. There are however, background checked adults who maintain state limits of children to adult ratio. That would have to close as well. It's ridiculous that free options should have stricter rules than pay for options- even public schools! I want to see public schools be required to have a restroom within 15 feet of every classroom- see how well that goes over!!
