Too much government!  Medical care and related decisions are made between a patient and his, or her, physician no matter what lame rationalization you can conjure up.  WORK on the the ECONOMY and the UNEMPLOYMENT issues in this State - not worrying about whether or not a certain test is ordered.

I agree with the previous comment. The legislature needs to stay out of health decisions made by individuals. I dont need them to be my mother- i already have a mother! Butt out, guys!! Stop trying to play God-or Hitler.

Since when and why does the State Government thnk they can pre-empt the Federal Protections mandated by Federal Law? This just dosen't make any sense to me.

I agree, State Government needs to butt out of the Federal Protections in place to protect those with these diseases. A classic example is the release in a Police Report of a persons HIV status to the news in Lansing.

With the way our personal information is used against us (insurance, employment, identity theft etc..) I think we need to protect that information from being mined when it's unnecessary or without our knowledge (including when its buried in the fine print).
