With the Michigan Economy on the constant plus I agree that it is really important to add this requirement to our schools and our kids.  We all know that all of them will be playing an NCAA Division I sport so it makes every bit of sense that they should be driving our academic programs!  NOT!

Come on -  Will you try to do something that really means something rather than all this wasted hot air!  How about working to fund schools in the first place.  How about increasing the means for the graduates to get jobs.

Do something we can be proud of - this isn't it.

Seriously. With the state of the economy and our need for better qualified workers, why are we LOWERING graduation requirements. Also, what is the point of requiring less Math and Science and MORE foriegn language? Do they think that we are going to get an influx of foriegn speaking companies in Michigan in the near future? And Philosophy? If anything, they need to consider flexible graduation requirements for different tracks (medicine, computers, vocational). There should be MORE to an education in Michigan than what they are suggesting. Time to step up.
