Will this help reduce the cost of Medical Insurance in Michigan? I think not!
This takes us in the wrong direction.
Reducing costs is not the only legitimate objective in dealing with health insurance coverage issues. Another key objective is to provide more complete and better coverage.
As an old geezer who has become hard of hearing, I have become rather acutely aware of how important the sense of hearing is. I can imagine, especially, that poor hearing could have a profoundly negative impact on a child's capacity to master lessons in school, which translates to a negative impact on that child's future prospects for becoming a productive adult. So to me, what this bill would mandate seems like a reasonable requirement for health insurance coverage. It is hard for me to perceive how it would not promote the general welfare, which is one of our government's key obligations and tasks.
