In other words, another subsdy to diguise the true cost of ethanol. You will give the station owners a subsidy from the pocket of the taxpayers to promote higher food prices and encourage reducing prices of an alternative fuel that causes more serious pollution than gasoline. Ethanol is already subsidized by the Feds (again that's our money) to the tune of about 51 cents per gallon in addition to other subsides, grants etc. Doesn't Obama have a fund you can tap into?

I wonder if one of the Senators committe assignments is Chair of Agriculture has anything to do with it?

We all know the latest revelations regarding ethanol prove it to be more expensive, produce more pollution, and hiked the cost of groceries to name a few.

No subsidy for corn ethanol.  Save our treasury for something better like reducing the deficit, and remember it's ours.  Producing and using ethanol puts more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than simply using gasoline alone.  Corn is food.  Common sense suggests that we harvest or mine fuel to produce food, not the other way around.  Stop the madness and let corn ethanol live or die on its own merrits and costs.

Ethanol as motor fuel is one of the great boondoggles of our time.  We taxpayers who subsidize the fiasco get hit in the pocketbook repeatedly, as ethanol production subsidies drive up the cost of our food while our tax pocket is getting picked by farmers, distillers and distributors and fuel costs continue to go up, up, up.  This bill is just another sorry example of it all.

Don't look for the bill to go away. Our legislators have only 6 years to network and pass bills that will set them up for life as consultants, members of BOD's etc.
