2009 House Bill 4786 (Expand unemployment benefits to get “stimulus” money )

Introduced in the House on April 2, 2009, to grant unemployment benefits to unemployed individuals who are seeking only part-time work. House Bill 4785 would provide extended benefits to individuals who exhaust regular benefits and are enrolled in an government job training program. Enactment of these provisions would enable the state to receive $138.9 million in one-time federal “stimulus” money, but it potentially would impose an annual unemployment assessment (tax) increase of $69.7 million on Michigan employers

The vote was 68 in favor, 39 opposed and 3 not voting

(House Roll Call 217 at House Journal 0)

To All Those Who Voted Against Us Unemployed "WE WILL REMEMBER YOU!"

Look out for the biggest backlash on the Republican Party! Taking care of those that lost they jobs and retraining our workers should be the highest concerned for both parties! Getting people retrained and back to work to pay taxes benefits everyone, Unemployment continue to melt down the economy of this state. Wake up in Lansing, We the People are MAD AS HELL! We will not think twice about throwing all of you out onto the streets. What do you idoits expect people to do to support their families and feed themselves. I hear a change coming in America, and both parties could be laid off forever, we are looking for action, not the usual bullshit. We need to cut the budget, no doubt, but the people come first and foremost! Maybe we need to cut the number of people in the house, senate and state government by half! Sound like a good ideal, does anyone want to help come up with a proposial to put on the state budget! Smile
