Are Socialists Deciding Close State House Races?

The March/April 2009 Michigan Capitol Confidential carries a story about a program by the Greater Detroit Democratic Socialists of America to help candidates who line up with their values win closely contested races for the Michigan Legislature. Using organized door-to-door canvassing, fundraisers and other forms of aid, the group claims credit for getting four new Democratic lawmakers over the finish line. Those lawmakers are: Rep. Sarah Roberts, D - St. Clair Shores; Rep. Vickie Barnett, D - Farmington Hills; Rep. Jon Switalski, D - Warren; and Rep. Llisa Brown, D - West Bloomfield.

    What do you think?

No matter the "door-to-door canvsassing, fundraisers, and other forms of aid", people still vote for who they think will represent them best. That happens to be mostly Democrats. Not surprising, considering the track record of Republicans.

What do I think of this?

It is the American way in action.

Does anyone think that right wing groups don't do likewise?

Re: Are Socialists Deciding Close State House Races?

It appears in many cases that some get elected to office as wolves in sheep clothing such as others that after the fact present socialist agendas. I have not seen a socialist in republican clothing as of yet but I suppose some one could make one up.

During the elections I recieve so many solicitations from politicians via telephone or mail. They would have to walk a mile between houses to canvas door to door in the rural area I live in so it is much easier for them to use telephone or mail. 1 out of 5 solicitations I receive are from the Republican party, the rest being Democrat party. On the Democrat material they do not say they represent socialist agendas. Wolves in sheeps clothing I guess.

Concerning areas of solicitation it appears that the city areas are targeted much more by these people than in the rural areas. It is possible that the socialist party is involved in the elections, in fact it is apparent, a few of them in office at this time, especially at the federal level.

Those socialist want to take our tax dollars and build bridges and roads, educate our children, hire more police and firemen, and provide healthcare to all of our citizens. We've got to stop them.

Seems that the socialists of this country are being viewed as "low on the pole"!  Are you one of them?

Why America is skeptical of the Democratic Party and why America is sinking!

There are less than 11 months until election day when the people will decide who will be the next President of the United States …
The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It’s that time that we all need to come together, Democrats and Republicans alike.
    In a Bi-Partisan effort for America :

If you will support the Republican nominee, please drive with your headlights ON during the day.
If you support Barack Obama, please drive with your headlights OFF at night.
Together, we can make it happen.
