Some research requires randomly bred dogs. This bill will make those animals harder to get and therefore add cost to medical and veterinary research. It will not reduce euthanasia numbers (which in Michigan are quite low, about 2.2% of the state's total dog population), and it will require additional dogs to be bred purposely as research animals.

Oh please. My money says you sell dogs to research, right? Trying to scare people about higher costs of 'medical research' this way while totally ignoring the point of the bill indicates you really don't get IT. It's about the humane treatment of unfortunate and often brutalized animals and not your pocketbook.
