Are you kidding me?  While we talk about prorations, cut backs, declining enrollment, and funding shortfalls you want to PROHIBIT schools from saving money!

This is irresponsible legislation.  Yet, I see no problem with providing the requested verifications - that's something everyone does anyway.

Here's some simple math - if you move to privatization and all things remain equal except the pension burden, you've saved nearly 17% right off the bat. It does not get any easier than that.

Representative Bennett, you should be ashamed and embarrassed.

SAVE MONEY SAVE MONEY...    but not this way, or this way, or that way ....

What a hypocritical load of crap.  Lansing demands that school districts save money and reduce budgets,  Lansing promises funding then withdraws it routinely.   Now to please the unions who line thier pockets, school districts can't do this that would displease them.

In these days NO ONE should be held safe, no one CAN be held safe.  We need ALL the tools available to us to save mioney and put it in the classrooms where it belongs.

Lansing needs to step up to the plate with measures they actually can control.  Retirement and health care.

As Lansing cuts revenues for school districts it is imperative that they be allowed to cut their expenses whereever they locally see the ability to do so.  If privatization of a service can save a classroom then the local school boards need to have the option to make that decision WITHOUT Lansing intervention either by limiting where they cut ('..10% savings..') or by increasing the cost of the person doing the privatized service.

Perhaps if Lansing was funding the increased cost but we all know that will never happen.  Stop trying to placate the special interst groups and do some real work.  If you dont have any real work to do perhaps it is time for a part time legislature.

They privatized the kitchen in my district with a  private contractor and laid off union members, now it cost the district 250,000 more a year for food service. The board will never admit a mistake, so where is the saving exactly ? PA 112 is very flawed, as is board members that do not research they`re vote.
