so why haven't i? and while we are at it, why haven't you? don't you have an opinion as to what patriotism is?

some would define patriotism as the love of and devotion to one's country, and the willingness to make sacrifices for that country.

That is incorrect. You confuse nationalism with patriotism.

Nationalism is the perversion of the virtue of patriotism.

In anycase this thread is pointless.

In reply to the question, "What is patriotism".

It does not require an opinion, it requires a definition, and that can be found in a dictionary.

    Pffft !   Waste of time.

Thank you for explaining the point I was making. To some it would not be quite so obvious.

does patriotism mean fealty to the government as opposed to fidelity to the government? does it mean absolute obedience? does it mean total sacrifice of everything you own and hold dear to the government? does it even mean allegience to the government.

Thought experiments my a_ss. The country has HAD IT with these nit wits. Dem's, repub's - its all the same CRAP. We're MAD AS HELL and we're not gonna take it anymore. NO more talk. Action baby, action.

The're yapp'in in your left ear while their hands are RIPPING off of our OWN money, posessions, and all of our childrens money and future. BS! Grow a pair and give them a swift kick in the a_ss.

Lets see if the MSM covers the over 150 tax day rallies. Doubt it, scumbags. As one famous movie put it "your not going to figure out you have a problem until its swims up and bites you on the A_SS"

    Consider this a gash!

    Re: what is patriotism?

patriotism is doing what is good for the country as a whole, not your particular little slice of the country. it means making sacrifices for the good of the country, not the good of any one group. this sacrifice is freely given by patriots every day. as evidenced by our all volunteer military, our incredible donations to charity by ordinary citizens, and by our willingness to help others in need.

it should not need to be mandated by law, but should remain guided by the individual. sacrifices for the good of others also requires that those who benefit from the sacrifices do what is necessary for those sacrifices to not to have been made in vain.

Young man/woman or whatever you claim to be.  You haven't the foggyest idea what patriotism is from reading your posts.  You seem to be a liberal, whining free loader that complains on just about everything as long as you don't have to pay for it and someone else does.

    Re: what is patriotism?

You are right on a couple of counts, that is, I am a man or a woman, and I am a liberal. You are wrong on everything else, (although I was young once.) Presenting the facts and another point of view contrary to yours is not whining. I realize you're not used to that, judging from your reactions. Too much Fox noise I suspect. But I have paid for everything I have, and contributed to much that you have. No thank you is necessary. I just wish my investment in your education would have produced better results.

Actually I paid for my education out of my own pockets unlike what affirmative action does for the learning entitlement groups!

Patriotism is showing up at your own court hearings and providing the appropriate papers for the American citizens to view and provide correct and authentic papers.

(Also NOT mentioned by the MSM which also includes Fox News)  The State of Georgia has now effectively boxed Barack Obama into a corner.  He will have to file a response to the courts or forfeit his name on the November ballot.  Will his narcissist and self centered "medical conditions" keep him from making the trip to the courts and provide the required "evidence" or will he strong arm the sytstem like he tried with the 70 year old governor of Arizona over a simple book and flyijng 2500 miles to express this.  To bad he didn't find some time to visit the border while there.

Do you support the Occupy Wall St. movement.  Simple question with a simple answer!  Don't be afraid.  Answer it or is there something that won't let you?
