This idea is all well and good but who is going to pay for the development, artwork, and manufacture of the plate? Let's offset the cost to the state first and then give the net profit to Ducks Unlimited.

Little forthought would be in order on this one I think...

 if you contact ducks unlimited, they supply you with an assortment of artwork. they even have a 'kit' that they can send to the state to give them what they need as far as artwork, the rest is the same as an ordinary plate.

 With all due respect to Ducks Unlimited and their efforts at conservation, this legislation could cause a domino-effect of every not-for-profit organization in the State requesting a license plate to raise funds.  That possibility and its implications for costs to the State need to be explored before this bill goes any further.

 as long as the state doesn't lose money on making the plates, and trust me, they don't. it doesn't matter how many different plates there are. other states do this, and do not lose money, the average 'vanity plate' in most other states starts at around fifty dollars. if the taxpayers are willing to pay for those custom plates, let them.
