What exactly is African-American history?

I thought all Americans make up Amercan history, and all Africans make up African history.

Where am I going wrong here?????????????

 another democrat who has taken the "mandate or ban" decision without a single thought about "choosing or not choosing". he cares not for choosing. choosing exercises rights he believes you do not have.

I'm of Polish extraction: when are we going to start having Polish-American history month? Since more people in the mid-west are of German heritage than any other, I think we need at least a month of German-American history!

I had some teen ask me last week what were the colors of the African-American flag-I told him red, white and blue, because there is no other flag for Americans! This whole African-American history month is not diversity-it's divisionary! Nothing destroys a cohesive populace more than making artificially-important divisions based on ethnicity.Let's just forget the whole African-American History month alltogether-and replace it with real American history,and maybe some government! This country and ALL of it's citizens would be far better served than with this feel-good, artificially-constructed 'history' of African-Americans!

 how can we expect equal justice under law if we grow up taught that we are not equal, but hyphenated? and that some hyphenated americans are better than others.

 Oh yeah, that's going to make our young adults more employeable!
