Yooper - our Founding Father's are rolling over in their graves due to people like you. Nor, do I believe that they would "change" the rights of private establishments to suit your needs. Choice, Yooper, choice! You have a choice whether to partake of what an establishment offers. If they allow smoking then you can go somewhere else. Again, it is called "Freedom of Choice." I think the language in the 9th Amendment is very, very clear. You can also read Frederick Bastiat's - "The Law."
We do not need "Change Agents" destroying the meaning of the Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence. I think our Founding Fathers were a lot more intelligent than either you or I -- and especially those who are supposed to be representing us today. Most of those who cry "change" today are "STATISTS" who want government to ignore, abrogate, and violate the limits that our founding fathers placed on government through our U.S. Constitution.
Go out and purchase Mark Levin's new book "Liberty and Tyranny." Government under the constitution does not have the RIGHT to dictate to a private business that pay their taxes, lease, rent et al, to be able to run their business as they see fit. We don't need government tyranny. If you don't like to smell or breath in smoke go to an establishment that does not allow smoking. It is very simple! That is your CHOICE. Get it "choice."
You can choose to go somewhere were they don't allow smoking, or perfume or peanuts or animal dander. But, you don't dictate that all businesses have to follow that venue. I don't go to strip bars because I do not find them to my liking, but I do not dictate that no establishment can allow stripping. Neither are they some place that I would like to take a child. But, they are not meant for children - only adults. I do not believe in banning adult bookstores, even though I would not go into one. I do not like businesses or concerts that play loud, ear piercing music, so I don't go into them. Neither would I ban them. It all comes down to choice, which you would like to ban others from having.
I want people in elected office who will represent the people within the boundaries and confines of what of what the U.S. Constitution allows. No more and no less. This is the last response from me to you, because in my opinion I am communicating with a brick wall.
