Obviously this is a bill punishing law abiding gun owners because of the irrisponsible behavior of a certain group of Detroiters.

Youth hunters are can be12 years old, but this bill considers minors to be under 18.

How about a similar law regarding car keys. Have them  locked up, so your children up to 17 can't kill someone with your car.

    More knee jerk legislation.

I would hope this dies in committee.

I owned my 12 ga. shotgun at 12 years old. I have never shot anybody. We were taght good common sense and knew the difference between the sacred right to life and playing video games. This bill would make felons out of citizens.

This bill is just one more example of nanny government intrusion into our private lives, and should never see the light of day.

i wonder if this bill also covers police officers on school property?

they ARE gun free zones. cops should have to leave THEIR guns home if they are going there too.

if the government doesn't trust it's citizens to be armed, and police officers ARE citizens. they should be disarmed as well.

let's also disarm the governor's bodyguards, and see how she likes it.

i say let's impose a penalty, and a harsh one, for anyone who is not a criminal for NOT having a gun ready for self defense. charge say, a thousand dollars a person, unless they file with the local government for a permit NOT to be armed. that way, we can know who is not armed, and we can notify the criminals accordingly.

it's safer for the citizens, and it's safer for the criminals.  it's a WIN/WIN situation.

and i'd like to see where crazy EVER said he wanted to disarm everyone, just the governor's bodyguards to give her a taste of her own gun control medicine.

OK, my bad, not everyone, just citizens, police officers and the Governor's bodyguards. Look back a few post and you'll read it.

cajun is right, you can't read, and further, you can't comprehend. if we are to expect equal treatment and equal justice under law, then those that write law should not be above the law. if one citizen is disarmed, let all citizens be disarmed. if you disarm the citizen, disarm the praetorian guard.
