Although this bill is a step in the right direction, it falls short of a resolution to the Crossbow issue.  Do we need to set a standard that hunters must meet?

    Consider the following:

We have "Fly's only" fishing areas for people who enjoy the challenge of fly fishing.

We have "Quiet Areas" for people who want to enjoy the solitude of nature without the noise created by other forms of outdoor recreation.

We have "Foot traffic only" hiking trails for people who enjoy hiking without being inturrepted by motorized vehicles.

How about "Full Inclusion" in all areas except thoes public hunting areas designated as "Traditional Archery Only"?

the vikings had crossbows before the normans came to england with their long bows. how do you define 'traditional'?

Crazycajun,  I agree with you.  My concern is Full Inclusion of the Crossbow in all Archery seasons.  If we had designated aras for "Traditional Archery", I would let the MBH determine what constitutes "Traditional".

I'm sue that the MBH would include the modern Compound Bow - hardly traditional but they wouldn't want to give them up. (LOL)

The answer to the definition of "traditional archery" is simple.

Crossbows are not archery equipment. That is why they have been used as a tool by handicapped hunters. Ease of use.

Crossbows might just be archery equipment - they were used in medevial times.
