Re: 2009 House Bill 4186 (Prohibit workers comp benefits for illegal aliens )

I have a real problem with this bill: Apply some logic!

An employer hires an illegal alien-he doesnt know he's illegal, even though the worker cant speak English, has a social security number matched to a 74yr-old woman on the other end of the country and accepts pay several dollars less than the going wage for the job. The employer is also lax on safety requirements and said illegal is injured. Thru this bill you further absolve this employer of responsibility and palm the costs off on the taxpayers-because SOMEONE will pay for his treatment! This is such a good deal, the employer then replaces even more of his workforce with illegals because he knows he's basically exempt from Workers Compensaton claims.

This is another crap sandwich you expect the taxpayers to consume.Stop encouraging illegal immigration via laws like this that make it so much cheaper to hire illegals than legal workers. This will do NOTHING to discourage illegal immigration-because these people dont have the benefit of workers comp in their native country- and everything to encourage more hiring of illegals-the jobs magnet that draws them here. We either have labor laws or we dont. Workers Comp covers all workers in a company for one reason: to encourage safety compliance and reduce the cost to taxpayers.  Exactly what entity is this bill designed to exempt from paying what they owe?
