    Excellent -- House Resolution 416

This is wonderful legislation and long overdue. What does the 10th Amendment state to the United States Constitution? "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. The Federal government to halt its practice of imposing mandates upon the states for purposes not enumerated by the Constitution of the United States. It is about time that Michigan took a stand against the unconstitutional practices of our Federal Government. I have heard that other States are trying to pass similar legislation. Bravo,Rep. Paul Opsommer -- Bravo!!!!

    Good

This is a good first step. Next our representatives need to assert their state sovereignty over specific powers.

    Great

Let's start with the stupid .08 DUI law. All this does is make money. The average drunk driving crash happens at about .26 Then we can look at all the other nonsense and start getting back to the constitution as written and not as interpreted by some liberal bleeding heart judge.

    House Resolution 416 of 2008

Unfunded mandates are what I delt with daily during the 1980's and 90's. If the public understood this very deceptive procedure from Congress they would change elected officials at every turn they could. Rep. Opsommer is to be congratulated for his wisdom and understnding of how local, state and federal government "works"! How much longer can a state operate with such budget policy practices mandated from the fed ? Philip Bareham
