    It makes perfect sense. .

. . however, it's dispicable! They collected tax money for highways. They transferred the highway money to the general fund so they could spend it on something else. Now, they want re-tax people for the same highway money! This is just so typical of this state. But they learned from the pros-at the federal level. Transportation funds have gone the way of the social security funds-up the proverbial nose of big government! The next step is, "we need to lease or toll the highways because we cant afford to maintain them"! It's highway robbery, actually-first they steal the money, then they steal the highway (I believe its called larceny by conversion?). The biggest joke? That we're promoting tourism as Michigan's next big industry! How are they going to get here? This is all a sick, sad joke-and all because the state cant tighten it's belt and suck up the fact this state is in serious economic trouble-not just the citizens but the state itself!

    NO MORE TAXES!!

Sweet Lord! I can't afford the 10 mile drive to my job as it is! And that's car-pooling 2x/week! Are you out of your minds!?!?!?!?!? November will not get here soon enough. I just hope the people in your district have enough sense to get you out of office as soon as possible!

    Yeah Right!!!

I do not understand why our leaders would want to impose more taxes on their residents, when the economy is at one of it's worst in years. this will be one of the poorest states, within a ten year period,,,,,

    Another Great Idea!

Rep. Marty Knollenberg on July 23, 2008, to impose a county motor fuel tax (gas and diesel tax) of up to 7 cents per gallon for road and public transportation spending. A vote of the people in the county would be required. Vote Schmote. Just let the dear leaders make these kind of decisions for us. We can't be bothered with this kind of stuff. Why stop at 7 cents? Let's just make it an even buck.
