    Repeal Term Limits???

They ought to make them shorter. One term and you're out. Go in and do what's right and best for the state and go back to the real world.

    Give me a break!!

We need to get you bozos out of office A.S.A.P.! The crap that gets voted through is enough to make me puke! Maybe if we have enough new people coming though, we'll be able to simplify the laws and the budgets, not keep making them more difficult and convoluted!

    Term Limits

May not be the worst idea Michigan voters ever were suckered into supporting, but it ranks high on the list of losers. Repeal term limits, now. Put real control back in the hands of voters.

    Yeah

Let's create more career politicians that don't have a clue what the real world is like. That would do it.

No, No, No to repealing term limits

What did we have before Term Limits? I bunch of career politicians who were voted in by name recognition. Politicians who gave Michigan the income tax that is blindly taken from our earnings and pork-barreled away! Politicians who passed legislation to fatten their wallets and benefits beyond which most of their constituents could only dream of. Keep our Term Limits and also garner us with a Part-Time Legislator. They all run on promises that are soon left in the dust bin -- but they never seem to forget to look out for their best interests. Their oath of office is just a preliminary to get over -- a forgotten covenant they have made to the State and the people they are supposed to serve, but instead "Serve Us Up!!!!" Our Founding Fathers did not believe in career politicians because they knew how corrupting it would be. It has been proven down through the years how these career politicians have corrupted our form of government. All you have to do is look at the long line of corrupted politicians that have served us under the Federal Government! "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Get Rid Of Term Limits Now!

Put the voters back in charge of who to elect to state executive and legislative offices. Term limits is the ultimate nanny state idea. It assumes that ordinary citizens are incapable of choosing their own government leaders and representatives, and so the state must restrict their choices. Term limits are nonsense.

    Drop their salaries

I say lets drop their salaries to $40,000 a year and if they dont attend a session deduct from that.Take away all their freebies. Maybe they will get a taste of what the working class live like.I expect that would make them think twice about raising taxes and fees.

Re:Get Rid Of Term Limits Now

"It assumes that ordinary citizens are incapable of choosing their own government leaders and representatives" They are incapable, and stupid. If we got back to the constitution and only let property owners vote then your idea might work. If they get rid of term limits I'm changing my name to Coleman Young and running for mayor of Detroit...I'll have a job for life.

    If You Believe

Term limits are justified because voters are incapable of properly choosing their own elected leaders and legislative representatives, and are too stupid to do so, then you are the ultimate nanny-stater. Nanny-stater. Nanny-stater. Nanny-stater. Get it. Term limits have done nothing constructive for Michigan. Instead, they have denied voters their right to be represented and led by elected officials of their own choosing. The legislature and executive branch which is commonly perceived and characterized by posters here to be in total disarray are products of term limits.

    Like I Said

When only property owners can vote we will be better off. If you are broke and helpless and lazy you will vote for whoever promises to steal from the ambitious and give it to you, which is always the deadbeat dem/lib/socialist party.
