    No more 'children's rights'!

Anybody but me happen to notice we have a little problem with giving kids rights that should be reserved for grown-ups? Specifically, their parents! I dont believe seventeen yerar olds need or deserve any control over the eductation the taxpayers pay to provide for them. No wonder these young people dont know what our Constitution means or implies. . .seventeen yesr olds are NOT adults! And we shouldnt be so busy courting the teen-age dollar and vote that we pander instead of being the grown-ups here. This is just plain dumb!

    Dumb Idea

This is the kind of crap that screams for a part time legislature! The parasites cannot find enough meaningful work to justify their time but especially their salary and perks!

    What Dollar?

If it were up to the kids, they would be wanting limo service to get them to school. When the kids start paying taxes then they can vote. It costs 4 bucks a day for school lunch at the high school, and God forbid you make a PBJ sandwich to take. No more pandering, you people in Lansing dont like how the millage votes are going? Why not start cutting some costs if the schools need more money? If you people ran a business like you run the State with its various departments you would be out of business. Part time Legislature sounds good to me. And you cant get a bottle of pop for a dollar.

    Clerk

Not a good idea; if there is a millage or bond request on the ballot an additional ballot would have to printed just for 17 year olds just listing school board members. The cost of the election just increased.

    Sorry, but NO!!!

At 16 & 17 these "children's" world doesn't extend beyond their school walls. I don't believe they are entitled to a vote until they pay the taxes & have a broader view of the world. I don't think they should vote on school issues until they can establish their own residence.

    CRAZY

All you are looking for is a bunch of gullible voters.

    Exactly Right

Once you own property, you can vote, otherwise you end up with leeches that will vote for whoever promises to give them more of the evil rich working mans money.

    Lousy idea

It's obvious that the state legislators have WAY too much time to think up these dumb ideas. It's time to limit their time to propose these lame ideas.
