Hey, I have an idea....quit STEALING OUR MONEY. When you mental midgets spend money just pretend that it is your own money. That way you won't be as apt to squander it buying votes or waste it on pie in the sky ideas that are plain stupid. Taxes are not levied for the benefit of the taxed. --Robert A. Heinlein There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him. --Robert A. Heinlein "When a man spends his own money to buy something for himself, he is very careful about how much he spends and how he spends it. When a man spends his own money to buy something for someone else, he is still very careful about how much he spends, but somewhat less what he spends it on. When a man spends someone else's money to buy something for himself, he is very careful about what he buys, but doesn't care at all how much he spends. And when a man spends someone else's money on someone else, he doesn't care how much he spends or what he spends it on. And that's government for you." -- Economist and Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman

    yes yes yes

This is just common sense. My mom lives in a SE Mich city. The only thing on her winter tax bill is county extra voted millages -- a pittance. Everything else is on her summer bill. What a waste of money for the city to send out thousands of bills, and then thousands of receipts, to collect minor amounts. It makes much more sense to put it on the summer bill. The voters voted for the millages, so they're not going away. Put them on the summer bill and be done with the wasteful winter bill. Of course, since this bill makes common sense, and would actually save money, it probably won't pass!

    I wouldn't notice

My winter tax bill was under $50. I wouldn't notice if it moved to the summer bill. Most of us wouldn't remember whether our summer bill was $50 more or less. Right now, without looking, how much was your summer tax bill? You get my point. If it's one less bill for me to pay, I say do it!

these are taxes we voted for

While I appreciate paying less in taxes, this bill is talking about county taxes we voted for -- senior citizens, parks, etc. So your quotes, although interesting, are somewhat off topic.
