As a state retiree, I am very concerned and upset about this bill. The State Employees Retirement Association is opposed and I agree with their reasons. Why change what is not broken. Apparently is is being done only to try to reduce the retiree health benefits. I worked for 33 years for the state and now count on my helath benefits in this later part of my life.
Keeping this as is does not guarantee that our health insurance is not reduced, but at least the retirement board has a good working relationship with Civil Service and it has been a successful working relationship. Please do not pass this bill.
