Introduced in the House on December 4, 2007, to mandate that electric utilities reduce the amount of energy they provide by 1 percent each year beginning in 2012, and gas utitities reduce production by 0.75 percent per year. To accomplish this they would be required to charge higher rates to pay for programs that “target customer behavior, equipment, or devices without reducing the amount or quality of energy services.” Utilities that fell short of the energy production reduction mandates could potentially be ordered by the Public Service Commission to reduce their prices. We cannot afford higher energy costs - they are already a substantial portion of our budget!!! Do not legislate the power companies allow them to use their money to come up with their own ideas - not to tax and spend and pass it on to the lowly consumer - your CONSTITUENTS!!! Isn't Michigan's economy in enough trouble - enough with the tax and spend ideas.

Just what we need...another 'mandate'-to be funded by the taxpayer! What part of "We're broke" dont you understand? We all agree we need to cut consumption of oil and gas, however we need better prioritizing on the part of legislature: Michigan is already in dire economic straits and you want to raise the price of energy? How much business do you think that will encourage? This is NOT the year to start making reckless demands regarding fuel useage-a decent tax credit for the taxpayer to promote efficiency would go much further toward meeting these goals.

We are in dire straights in Michigan but I heard she is going to talk about her plan to change our economy in her upcoming state of the state address. Hey moleface! When are you going to get with the fact that higher gas prices are killing the state economy, from car production to tourism? A new increase on gas taxes would essentially cripple what's left of the Michigan economy. but then again, moleface, I wish I hadn't voted for you. You were the lesser of two evils, but now looking back on it, I wish I had given DeVos a chance, or some other person but you. And I did not vote for Romney. The only person I have encountered in this year's presidential campaign who appeals to me as a very straightforward person is McCain. Ron Paul? I did seriously consider him, but felt he was a bit too radical for me. He did have some good ideas, though. I think before all is said and done, he will have a lot to say about who gets the Republican nomination. He just keeps hanging in there. The Democrats? To me, Hillary is another moleface. Since the Dems refused to campaign in Michigan, I could not vote for any of them, although I do like Obama. Choices, choices, choices. I want someone who has a long-term vision for where they want to take Michigan and the nation, not just someone who cannot see past their nose, or their moleface.

Moleface, if you really want to take a stand against the oil companies, how about doing what former President Carter tried to to (and should have been allowed to do), which is to pass a windfall profits tax on the oil companies, which would not be allowed to be passed onto consumers. The money from that tax would be used to support alternative fuel sources and alternative energy production. But then, moleface, you and your legislature are like a bunch of pigs at the public trough. You are all the worst bunch of incompetent, self-serving losers in state history.
