Introduced in the House on August 8, 2007, to revise the law allowing a prisoner to appeal his or her conviction on the basis evidence generated by new DNA testing technology. The bill would eliminate the Jan. 1, 2009 sunset of that law, allow more prisoners to appeal, give courts greater discretion in authorizing DNA testing in such cases, and ease the requirements a prisoner must meet to be allowed an appeal
