    Sounds good to me.

    Please pass this.

Hitting global warming at state level is KEY. I hope this does not pass.

I like what I saw at the governor's convention where governors agreed to cooperate and learn from one another and support one another in protecting the environment. This bill is ridiculous.

After seeing what the EPA allows to be dumped into "The Lake" by BP

I wondered what we the EPA DOES exactly. Having state regulations MORE stringent that FEDERAL levels is the ONLY way the US is going to combat global warming. That is unless you WANT to be UNDER water? I do NOT support this bill.

Step up and prevent all that "stuff" from entering Lake Michigan via

the state of Indiana. UNACCEPTABLE. I hope this bill does NOT pass. Our TOURISM is at risk if we don't take care of our lakes NOW. (Not to mention the HEALTH of our citizens and communities.) We need to draw the line in the sand.

It's OBVIOUS that states need stronger envir. regulations than fed. level

It's our only HOPE, quite frankly.

This will die. Totally goes against what was discussed in Traverse City.

    No way!

Isn't BP the company acting all environmentally friendly in its commerical?

lol Reality is a bit different.
  • 07-24-2007 1:40 PM In reply to

Doesn't BP have those commercials with little kids in the car to appeal

to youth, and it suggests that they are doing things to help the environent. Then they dump all that CRAP in LAKE MICHIGAN. It's like advertising for alcohol or cigarettes that appeal to youth. lol Anyone who watches the news knows that BP of Indiana is not exactly a friend to the environment.

    The Lakes

are cleaner than they have been in a hundred years. The air is cleaner than it's been in years and we have more people, cars, trucks and boats. The sky is not falling. Loosen up and enjoy life a little. Don't believe what the tree hugging control freaks tell you. Most of the environmentalist agenda has been hijacked by socialists that want total control over you, me and everything we do.

No, I think you are the one off your meds again.

Psychologically, I believe that it's called paranoia. If your prescription ran out, get some more please. The whole loosen up, hug a tree argument is old. Perhaps you are old and won't be around to suffer the issues related to global warming. If so, enjoy your retirement, take some meds, enjoy yourself while the rest of us take care of business. Socialist trying to control your mind, please. This girl has a mind of her own.

We are doing OK, but we could do better. That's what we young voters think, so get ready. Step up or else.

    Michigan Can Lead!

The State of Michigan should be able to enact any environmental protections that are needed in this State regardless of what the Federal Government does or does not do. Federal guidelines for Environmental Protection are the bare minimum that needs to be followed. Just something for the States to build upon. Michigan should strive to be a leader in Environmental protection. Especially now, since tourism is a primary industry here. Our water needs to be protected at all costs.

    What a Stupid Idea

While there are at times clear reasons for the federal government to require states to follow its guidelines, for a state to voluntarily tie its own hands is ridiculous. There can be no motive for a bill like this other than minimization of environmental protection in any circumstances.

A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste

so you should read and learn of what you speak. If you think more government regulations or bigger government will cure anything you are delusional. Show me one government regulation or entity that doesn't cause more problems, cost, hassel etc. than they cure. You have been brainwashed by the envirosocialists that want us to be more like the third world. The richest most free countries on earth are also the cleanest. Get the government out of the way and good things will happen.

    Inane proposal

This inane proposal would effectively allow the federal government to set all environmental standards -- in direct contradiction to the Founder's fundamental belief that state's should be laboratories of Democracy.

"in direct contradiction to the Founder's fundamental belief that state's should be laboratories of Democracy." How's that been working out for you? It was nice when it wwas that way.
