Early bird gets the bottle
I wonder why we don't go 24-6 and give out early bird liquor licenses for $2,000.00 a crack or at least make beer and wine 24-6 with a 2000.00 permit. This law sounds great bringing in some money without taxing the crap out of the working stiff.I think with legislation like this along with cuts and wise use of tax dollars, a hike in gas and other stuff is probably avoidable. GO legislators go be smart ,be fair just don't tax me out of my underwear.

Jails aready full of drunks
HB 4573 is a profoundly bad idea, that will cost Michigan both in money and in lives. It will immediately make our roads less safe, and place an additional burden on State recources, such as the jails that are already filled beyond capacity with drunk drivers and others whose lives have been torn apart by alcohol. It's no coincedence that virtually all police organizations and most police officers oppose this measure; it is not safe. We should be cutting back on the hours available to sell alcohol not extending them.

hours to sell alcohol, it didn't work.
perhaps if we take the OTHER half of the drunk driving equation away, (HINT: THE DRIVING) then we wouldn't need any more laws.
how about a BUS SERVICE that operates 24/7 to take drinkers TO AND FROM the bars. how about MANDATING THAT EVERY MUNICIPALITY HAS A CAB SERVICE THAT OPERATES 24/7,
these two relatively inexpensive options would cut your HIGHWAY DEATHS by 75 to 100 percent.
they would cut your BROKEN LIVES by at least that amount.
they would also RAISE MONEY for the services they provide, instead of COSTING MONEY when you punish a person who has no other option.
when you allow drinking (no matter WHAT you feel about it) people come.
when they come, they buy drinks. (and pay TAXES on those drinks).
when they are provided an ALTERNATIVE TO DRIVING, they USE IT.
when they live to enjoy themselves, they save up their dimes and PAY TO COME BACK.
it's a vicious, distasteful cycle, i know it, but it beats the hell out of the current alternative.
