Lansing Tax Increases are a Sin!

Liquor, cigarette, twinkie tax increases! The true sin is the Lansing representatives who dream up tax increase burdens to place on the citizenry. We should increase taxes on each and every representative who dreams up another tax increase!

If people have money for cigs and drink--if anything has to be taxed--they shouldn't mind a couple cents more. HOWEVER, THE REPS AND SENS THAT PROPOSE TAXES should realize they are riding the State Gravy Train--and take a pay cut themselves--we haven't forgotten about the 38% INCREASE they took for themselves a few years ago. Also, take Granholm's husband and his 3 consultants off the State payroll--we did NOT ELECT THEM.

    Wrong Thinking Sheeple

"If people have money for cigs and drink--if anything has to be taxed--they shouldn't mind a couple cents more." Then you won't mind a "couple cents more" tax on early bird special dinners or maybe a few cents on that socialist arrp membership. How about 10% tax on your pension, heck, I don't get one of those so it doesn't hurt me. This "if it doesn't punish me bull excrement" has to end. As a retiree you should have a little more knowledge about history than the younger ones that have been through our fine state indoctrination centers, sooner or later they come for you or something you like. When you are spending too much, you CUT SPENDING. We have become a nation of government dependant wimps.

There may be Pros like Cons

This may be good . It may or may not stop under age drinking. It may just have people think twice before they buy it because of the price. They should be spending the money on stuff they need and not the liqure especilay those college students.

    Cool Cities on the rocks

On the one hand, Granholm seeks to promote vibrant, cool cities, which as an important component, typically includes nightclubs with LIQOUR. On the other hand, she wants to discourage the same through increased taxes. Maybe she thinks we will all just sit around sipping lattes, instead.

she will raise the taxes on them too.

    liquor and cigarettes

like gasoline are all heavily taxed. in fact they are the THREE HEAVIEST TAXED ITEMS in our state. our largest problems are drinking and driving, and smoking. you can't tax a problem out of existance, but you can tax a STATE out of existance.
