Introduced in the Senate on February 15, 2007, to make eligible and give priority to claims from a proposed Medicaid estate recovery program upon the estate of deceased person who had more debts than assets. Medicaid estate recovery is a program in which the cost of services provided to Medicaid recipients (most often nursing home or long-term care services) may be recovered from the person’s estate after death.
