With more families relying on day care, having a rating system helps the responsible guardians make informed decisions. However, every system has flaws. There has to be strict guidelines to limit the possibilities of kick backs or pay offs for individuals to receive a false high rating at a price.
Making it manditory for these centers to post their ratings in plain sight for public viewing gives the consumer a way of knowing how this center measures up to the standards that are set. This will give incentives for centers to maintain their high standards of care since someone will be checking/watching them.
Having a high rating may allow some centers to receive better benefit ratings such as liability insurance. Reducing the risk of abuse and encouraging safe learning/care facilities will help guardians to have peace of mind while at work.
