Are moveable bridges currently being shortchanged, or is this a way to earmark funding for a very limited number of bridges? There is already a process for prioritizing funding for bridge repair, based on a number of factors. If the process is broken, propose legislation to fix, not bypass, the process. How was the $6.5 million determined? Shouldn't it be a % instead, so that it wouldn't need to be adjusted for inflation in the future?
