    Yeah, sure

And when s/he gets transfered to another McDonald's, another $3,000 tax credit?

Maybe they should have to live in that house for a certain period

OR be penalized the next tax year. Good environmental bill. Love it.

Only walking and public transport? Enforcement?

I understand the sentiment Rep. Kolb is using in proposing this Bill, especially since it SEEMS to be addressing two valid concerns, reducing taxes and helping promote a "healthier" environment, but if you read it carefully this Bill is terrible! 1st - why are walking and public transport the only two valid options for getting to the place of employment? What about bikes? What about wheelchairs? What about in-line skates? 2nd - the government will know the distance between the residence and the place of employment, but how in the world is the government going to know if the person is actually walking or using public transport to get to work??? I once knew a man who lived 3 blocks from his job and drove his car every single day instead of walking. 3rd - can it be scientifically be proven that there will be any environment benefit at all to people moving closer to their workplaces? So far, I haven't seen much evidence (if any) that a person's family vehicle emits more toxins into the environment than your average deisel-powered, exhaust-spewing bus (which are in limited supply in most Michigan communities, anyway).
