how does it feel to raise everyone's prices for cars? how does it feel to raise everyone's prices for everything else?
how does it feel to have elected our gloriously innefective governor, and have no hope of electing anything else but another gloriously innefective governor?
how does it feel to have aligned yourself with an association that harbors organized crime?
how does it feel to have aligned yourself with an organization that pays people exhorbitantly high salaries only to extract extortion from them in exhorbitantly high amounts?
how does it feel to have paid union dues?
i wouldn't know, i get paid what i get paid WITHOUT having to pay union dues.
how does it feel to be stolen from?
how does it feel to have organized crime in your home? how does it feel to have KNOWN associations to murderers?
how does it feel to have killed off several industries?
unions have done all that and you STILL willingly associate with them. you must feel SOME guilt having financed the guys that killed jimmy hoffa, one of your own.

sounds like your a little mislead
your just a little obseased with karl marx.union comes from being united to act as one.sort of like the united states of america were all people are considered to be created equal where the poor have just as many rights as the rich.being created equal 'you'd probibly consider that communism.even though it's the foundation this country has been founded on.but never mind all that every thing you have writen about unions is wrong.i'm a union carpenter guess what.if somebody calls in sick they don't get paid. if there's a holiday guess what?i don't get paid.if i don't produce on the job site guess what? i get laid off.my union dues goes to guess what? training in all phases of carpentry to make us more productive for the contractors it goes to first aid and safety training and guess what i'm proud to be union.what can you say? i'm proud of my knowledge of communism. your a great american.

it is YOU who was mislead
yes, all people are CREATED equal, but it's what they make of themselves from there that leads us to where we all end up.
equality cannot be enforced. we do not all end up equal.
to make me equal to you holds at least ONE of us down.
it MAY hold BOTH of us down. we should be allowed to be individuals. we have INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS, INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS, INDIVIDUAL PERSONALITIES, and INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.
the needs of the PEOPLE (the prolitariate to you) are the needs of thousands of INDIVIDUALS.
we live in COMMUNITIES, (groupings of individuals for the good of all) not COMMUNES (a group of the prolitariate living together for the good of the state).
we are ruled by laws built around OUR FREEDOMS. those individual freedoms would be given up by those on the left for the 'betterment' of the COMMUNE. YOU would use force to 'coerce' free people into giving up a portion of what they make to 'better' your union. YOU would use force to stop those who would reject your notion of perfection. YOU would use force to disarm the 'dissident' population.
in other words, the FREEDOM of choice does not exist in your world, as you would use FORCE to keep FREE PEOPLE from making an educated choice.
what other goals would you use force to accomplish?

knowledge of communism? was it gained FIRST HAND? was it gained following an 'each according to his needs' rally? was it gained from informed consent as to where you money is being spent?
the democrats would tax you, they have proven this throughout history, yet you CONSISTANTLY pay money to support them, whether you want to or not.
the democrats would force you to support those who will not support themselves, they have proven this. yet you CONSISTANTLY pay money to support them, whether you want to or not.
the democrats would force you to support those who would remove the church from your life, and apply the jobs of the church, education and charity, to the state. they have proven this. yet you CONSISTANTLY pay money to support them, whether you want them or not.
it seems that your union is trying to give all power to the state, and thus, all power to the union. it seems that your union is picking and choosing, very carefully, who will be in charge of this country at every level. it seems that the union has given you very little choice but to follow along with it's choices.
how do you call yourself a FREE MAN?
your union pays to elect those that take away FREEDOM, your union TAKES AWAY FREEDOM.
do you not ever wish you had all the money you paid to the unions?
one last question... did you vote for jennie BY CHOICE?

everything you list, everything, was passed by congress OVER THE LOUD VOCIFEROUS OPPOSITION OF THE UNIONS.
8 hour days was passed BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR. i'll bet your union never told you that. look at history, you'll see that unions OPPOSED all those changes because THEY HAD TO PAY FOR THEM.
by the way, you'd better stay out of tall buildings in washington d.c. they were all built by GOVERNMENT CONTRACTORS WHO WERE NON-UNION.
stay out of buildings built between 1932 and 1940, they were all built by the w.p.a., non-union.
stay off of the roads in michigan, they were built by NON-UNION road workers, except the truck drivers. some of those workers were PRISON INMATES.
get off your harley, as they are a NON-UNION SHOP.
your legislators are NON-UNION, except the democrats who were elected by unions, but still don't do what the union slugs tell them to do.
your cozy little 'worker's paradise' is shrinking, not growing. the auto manufacturers are going out of the country to avoid any contact with you, companies are going out of their way, even out of state, to avoid dealing with you.
even walmart will not deal with you. you guys must be doing SOMETHING WRONG.
several cities IN MICHIGAN have city ordinances that promote NON-UNION LABOR in contract negotiations over LABOR UNION'S WASTEFUL PRACTICES.
in other words, IT DOESN'T SAVE THE TAXPAYER MONEY TO HAVE CITY GOVERNMENT USE UNION LABOR. it doesn't save MY money to use UNION LABOR.
you squirm in your bed worrying about when are we all going to figure this out.
too late. it's been done. union labor is just too expensive. you've been replaced. other companies from 'right to work' states are willing to do a BETTER JOB for LESS MONEY.
they will get the jobs you once had.

Re: 2006 House Bill 5771 (Make Michigan a "right to work" state )
The right to work concept is not so safe as you said. Maybe is better to have a correct relation with all the elements of this formula. cazare predeal

Re: first off, the call centers
Actually what you say doesn't hold water. In the 1984 auto contracts with GM the uniuon offered to take lower pay if the company would pass the saving along to the consumers, the company told the union to take a hike. Do you see those large SUV's coming in from Mexico with a lower sticker price because they have slave labor wages? NO you don't. The unions today are very accommodative on work rules at least in the auto industry. All Right to Work means is the Right to Work For Less. I live in Florida half the year and the people I have talked to don't think its good policy but once its passed its hard to get it changed.

I knew a guy that worked building I-69 and he was a well paid union worker. As a matter of fact I was amazed at how well he was paid back then when it was built. So don't try to tell me those roads were built by non union workers.

Unions fight for the rights of all workers whether they belong to a union or not. If we didn't have Unions who would enforce the labor laws. Laws are being broken every day as it is. I have seen many people get fired for even mentioning the word Union in the work place. Its against the law to do so but it happens all the time.

I would spend millions defending worker's right to organize. But unfortunately, like you, I don't have millions. All I've got is what I've earned.

Others labored so you could prosper in the land of freebies and handouts. That's not earning, collective bargin hunting begins ad ends with taking whitey to court.

Gypsy - Tater thought you might be a Gypsie got a few neighbors retired now that were they drive toyotas and hondas loyal folks and good neighbors, you are probably married to one moved here from chicago and are in the field of education us billionaires get a few guesses.
Also lets say your having a deck built and painted , the union guys quote it and are high by several thousand dollars including permits.
You go with the home depot thing and build it your way. maybe you get a 30% bigger deck. how are helping your union brother or Sister ?

Shares of G.M. rose 22 cents on Tuesday, to $28.78, compared with the initial public offering price of $33 in November. To break even, the Treasury needs to sell its remaining shares at an average price of about $53.
The Treasury is expected to begin selling more of its G.M. stake as soon as August, but it can wait longer if the shares remain below their original price. G.M. has no say in the matter, Mr. Akerson said

Gypsy............explain this one to us common right wing conservatives who don't understand.
GM is bailed out by the Federal government. Some good points...........some bad points!
GM / Obama-Ratner tell the bond holders to "take a hike".
GM receives money from the TARP account which is ($$) in the top left hand drawer of Obama's desk
GM owes the America taxpayers in the neighborhood of $60 Billion
GM gets money from Obama's left hand drawer to pay off the remaining money owed to the taxpayers (sounds like Solyndra).
GM offers IPO at $36.00 per share
GM shares six months later are worth 1/3 less or more with no repayment in sight to make any profit for the taxpayers
GM pays bonus's to its employees while still owing the taxpayers their fair share of the borrow of money from them.
GM gets more money ($$ many many millions) from the left hand drawer to help push the Chevy Volt onto the scene with the usual BS to the public.
GM sells a couple thousand Volts at $42,000.00 each, $7,500.00 subsidy from the taxpayers and the actual cost of "each" vehicle is approximately $250,000.00............after kickbacks to the Obama re-election campaign (sounds like Solyndra .....again)!
Obama and ole' Jeff Immelt (econ. advisor to Barack) agree that the Volt should be built in China. .....along with Jeff's G.E. products!
Taxpayers left holding the emptly bag of return on investment again. Left wing morons still defend this loser while he is picking them dry. Sad................very sad!

Mr. Salad...GM handed back TARP money it had been lent and hadn’t used. Those funds had been sitting in an escrow account, should the automaker need them. (The company didn’t borrow new money to pay back an older loan.)
Maybe you're forgetting the Savings and Loan bailout scandal under Reagan, when $160 billion of taxpayer's money was used to bailout 747 S&L's. Or, maybe you're not old enough to remember it. At least the auto industry bailout preserved thousands of jobs.

Enough money? Cable, phones, A.C., cars, boats, 2nd homes huh!
Today, Providence RI announced it may go BANKRUPT in June due to union pension benefits. Unions have a right to burden the taxpayers with the thought the job is a mere privilege.
Harrisburg, Pa is already in receivership.................
Go figure..........................Union contracts will not allow to adapt to a fluid economy in downturns.
