i remember some years ago there was a little guy named...
ross paroe. he was a very wealthy person. probably more so than dick devos. anyway he ran as an independant. boy, was he the ticket. alot of people backed him. the only down side was he took votes from both the right and left. anway, we ended up with "SLICK WILLY and MOMMA HILLARY". in the end willy got caught dippng a cigar with an intern. hillary made thousands in cattle futures [and denied it]. willy was also impeached. hillary is now a senator in new york.
willy also had a chance to get ben laden but failed on that too.
the fact that peroet[?] was a millionare and a lot of people DID like him, makes me wonder why there is so much distaste for devos.
granholm is spending your money. not hers. if you were spending someone elses without having to worry about it. how much would you spend ??? how would you spend it ??
a busniess man or woman understands checks and balances.
oprah is a millionaire. why don't people hate her. i'll bet she takes every chance she can to get tax breaks. then comes on her show and talks bad about bush. there is so much double standard it makes a person sick.
i want michiganistan back to a place where people want to come back to. drop the damned gas and fuel taxes. get rid of that stupid helmet law. make this state a place thats affordable to live in again.
JENNY, GO HOME. DON'T WORRY WE CAN TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES. WE WILL EVEN TAKE CARE OF THOSE POOR DEMOCRATS THAT CAN'T. WE ARE NOT COMPLETELY HEART LESS....

ALOT OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE
"the fact that peroet[?] was a millionare and a lot of people DID like him, makes me wonder why there is so much distaste for devos."
IT IS BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW A WEASLE WHEN THEY SEE ONE!
"granholm is spending your money. not hers. if you were spending someone elses without having to worry about it. how much would you spend ??? how would you spend it ??"
GRANHOLM IS SPENDING CAMPAIGN MONEY THAT SHE RAISED HERSELF AND THAT WAS DONATED BY HER SUPPORTERS; SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO SPEND IT OUT OF HER OWN POCKET LIKE DEVOS! SHE HAS MANY SUPPORTERS THAT EXCEEDS DEVOS' MILLIONS. OBVIOUSLY!
"a busniess man or woman understands checks and balances." AND HOW TO AVOID PAYING TAXES!
"oprah is a millionaire. why don't people hate her. i'll bet she takes every chance she can to get tax breaks. then comes on her show and talks bad about bush. there is so much double standard it makes a person sick." MANY RICH DEMOCRATS, AREN'T THERE? :)
ALOT OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE OUT THERE: ALL DEMOCRATS.

HILARIOUS PIC AND DEVOS QUOTES
For a (funny as hell) pic of Dick at His Audition for Brokeback Mountain go to...
//img352.imageshack.us/img352/1615/brokebackdick41bu.jpg
Here are some of Dick DeVos' Best Quotes from the Debates...
October 10th:
*I mean, this is, uh, this is again said.
*Boy, that’s a hard question.
*Yes, the Governor needs to remember that the Governor’s not the Governor.
October 16th:
*Well, to suggest that, I think, is to suggest that the people of Michigan can be bought, which as a citizen of Michigan I would find insulting.
*I am going to be my own economic development director. [Because I'm so good at communicating...]
LOL! SOUNDS LIKE A RE-RE-PUB! CAN'T TALK WORTH A SHI*!

Checking DeVos ad claims:
In their fourth "Claim Check" on the Dick DeVos advertising campaign, Wood TV 8 reports on the recent TV spot, Unemployed (video, transcript):
The claim is made that one job is lost in the state every ten minutes since Governor Grahholm took office. According to the DeVos campaign, that would add to to nearly 160,000 jobs.
The article goes on to point out Bureau of Labor Statistics press releases on DeVos's website that purportedly support the claim. Of course, if you actually read these, you'll see that they simply summarize state and regional unemployment percentages for the last three years. And that yes, Michigan (along with Alaska) tops the list among states, unemployment-wise.
Then TV 8 cites a different table on the BLS site, which shows a lower unemployment percentage for Michigan than the reports cited by DeVos -- with the numbers showing more like 82,000 jobs lost, a significant difference. The state GOP site has yet another calculation, and of course, Gov. Granholm uses a different figure and observes that however you slice it, "the job loss lies on the doorsteps of George W. Bush and John Engler," according to this article.
I resent the number crunching by the DeVos campaign -- turning a single digit percentage (which, though huge by unemployment standards still is a small number on its own) into a "jobs lost per minute" metric in an effort to make the problem seem more immediately threatening.
I give credit to TV8 for the effort here, even though the reporting seems to me to be less probing or thoughtful than it should be. It's always good to call somebody on their use/misuse of numbers and statistics. If there's anything I've learned in my years of writing marketing communications, it's that you can make numbers say just about anything you want.

Granholm offers a more positive vision for state
Friday, November 3, 2006
Yes, Michigan's in rough shape, scraping bottom in most every economic indicator. Gov. Jennifer Granholm inherited a mess from Republican John Engler compounded by the auto industry restructuring itself during a prolonged period of job-shedding.
The governor has scrambled her first four years to patch gaping holes in the state budget while trying to strengthen education, the key to future prosperity, and protect services for vulnerable citizens.
Republicans control the Legislature and had a decade to abolish the Single Business Tax, but they seem more determined to see her fail than to work together.
GOP nominee Dick DeVos has pumped millions of his personal fortune into his campaign, but offers a vague plan beyond running the state more like a business. Like Engler did? Like Indiana did with the toll road? Running a government is not the same as running a business.
Granholm possesses compassion to go with the vision that will be necessary during this difficult transition from the auto age and its union-based lifestyle to a more diversified high-technology global era.
An energetic, dynamic leader, she has outlined a health care program that would help Michigan's more than a million uninsured. She sped up state highway construction to create jobs. And using $1 billion from the state's share of the national tobacco damage settlement, Granholm nurtured the 21st Century Jobs Fund for entrepreneurial venture capital.
Given the magnitude of forces swirling in Michigan's economy, a dramatic turnaround will not be achieved as quickly as the state seemed to crash.
Michigan's challenge demands a long-term strategy to wean our century-old reliance on the auto industry as economic engine.
Fundamental change takes time, but the positive Granholm steered the state down a more promising path during the painful adjustment period.
She best recognizes that the state still bears responsibility for schools, health care, public safety and local governments as Michigan continues to invest in its chief asset, its people.
We support a second term for Gov. Granholm and her belief Michigan can excel.

I think there is a very good chance Jenny is going to get re-elected. Unfortunately, it is not because she has done a good job as governor, but because of the sheeple of this state, that refuse to think anything out, and are happy to follow the masses to more slaughter. The other reason, is this crazy trend to just go with "your" political party, no matter how lousy of a job the person has done. Jennifer has done nothing to qualify her for re-election. Take the blindfolds off, and forget about democrat, or republican. She has been a finger pointing, blame someone else, do nothing, it's not my fault, governor. I will cross party lines in a split second, if the person is qualified to do what they are supposed to, and has a proven track record. Jenny has not done anything that makes me believe she can turn things around here with another 4 years. She sure hasn't improved my way of life over the LAST 4. Reading some of the posts here, with the support and party loyalty in favor of her, truly makes me feel this state is doomed to another 4 year term of hell, and ranking at the bottom of every important statistic. Just as long as a republican doesn't get in there, we'll keep hoping our gal will do something right in another 4 years. THAT, my friends, is unreal. Regardless of what anyone says, or thinks..... my friends, my co-workers, and my family members were all better off before she ever took office.

Do you think before you type, or after ???
WHOEVER CAN PRESENT THEIRSELF WELL, AND WHO HAS A (BETTER) PLAN! DEVOS HAS NEVER ACCOMPLISHED EITHER ONE!
How has Jenny presented herself well ?? It's NOT by her track record.....or are you the one that called her a "hottie" and DeVos a "notty". If that WAS you, that explains a lot......And how could DeVos acomplish his plan while GRAND-HOLE has been in office ??
