Introduced in the House on March 3, 2005, to establish a “minority health disparities research and education act” in which the Department of Community Heath would be required to monitor minority health progress; establish a minority health policy; fund minority health programs, research, and other initiatives; staff a minority health hotline that establishes linkages with other health and social service hotlines and local coalitions; and develop and implement an aggressive recruitment and retention program to increase the number of minorities in the health and social services professions
