Rep. Whitmer's HB 4034 would require the DEQ to produce a written report every time it issues a water- or air-emissions permit to a drain or factory, of its "findings on the increased health risk to children in the area." Exploiting fears about children's health is the cheapest kind of posturing for politicians wanting to incite paranoia so they can promote one agenda or another. This cheap demagoguery could cost taxpayers plenty if the state has to produce hundreds of reports based on non-existant science and the notion that children are somehow different from human beings.

not even allowing their children to let their feet touch the ground. Wish our adults were even a little bit closer to that in their parenting. If business wants healthy, well-educated employees, then keep the environment clean! It's a part of the equation!
