    State OWNS our Children

Where's his evidence for small chance of such miniscule 2nd hand smoke being bad? Where's his authority for taking over care of our children from us parents??

    I've watched children cough

Children under 18 do not have the right to smoke, except when forced to do so by being seated in a restaurant smoking section. If you choose to smoke, let the children out of it

    Hypocrytes

Get this bill out of committee! Either drop all legislation that prevents children under 18 from smoking or get the kids out of the smoke!

    order for my children

This is progressive legislation... Perhaps the state should be given the power to select the proper entree on behalf of my children, since who knows better than the state legislature... Of course, at the end of the meal, I will be stuck with the bill nontheless.

    You Are One of..

the useful idiots. If you want the state to regulate all aspects of your life then move to Cuba or Canada. Just leave the rest of us alone. Most of the 50 year olds today were breathing smoke most of their lives and are fine. Non smoking bartenders don't get sick at any greater rate than folks like you that want to live in a bubble. The government has no power over brave men and women and they know it. All they need is more chicken littles like you and they can have total control. Scare the dummies and they'll let you do anything to them, global warming, 2nd hand smoke, candy, soda pop, trans fats, fast food, theas will all be banned in your little safe cocoon. You would also be safe in a jail cell. Good luck in the gulag you have decided to live in.

    How about

the right not to be killed in the womb. Once you fix that problem maybe I'll believe that you actually care about kids.

Touchy! Ban smoking in cars with children, too, please. Thanks.

    I support this bill.

Do you have ADD? Stick to the topic. Smoke is bad for children.

    I support this bill.

    I Suppose That...

it's only important to protect "the children" after they're born. When I see all you hypocrites protecting children from having holes poked in their heads and brains sucked out then maybe your fake concern will sway me. Until then,go back to your hiding place under the bed where mommy government will keep you safe.

    Liberal Hippies

that want to control every aspect of peoples lives are worse for them. Get a Grip, Get a Job and quit being afraid of your shadow.

    Why ...

Is this bill being brought up now? It was introduced two legislative sessions ago, and went nowhere. The recent commentary seems aimed mostly at baiting so-called "liberals." One senses that trolls have taken over this forum.

    the current batch of

legislators aren't doing anything worthy of note, so we go back into the archive and "discuss" old legislation. so much for the promise of 'we'll make it better when we (the democrats) get elected.'

    More Than

80 bills were introduced in the Michigan House by noon on the first regular business day of the current session -- 1/22/07. That ought to give everybody here some material to work on. Trolls included. Let the game begin!

    according to the

little "ticker" on the left, only 13 bills have been put forward so far. how do you come up with 80? where are they? why aren't they listed here?

some of your own homework rather than relying exclusively on this site to learn what's happening in Lansing. You'll be better educated for the experience. The information is readily available. Even a dumb, demented liberal could find it.
