    2004 House Bill 6034 (Build State Capitol Reagan monument )

    Introduced in the House on June 22, 2004, to establish a state commission to raise money and solicit designs for a Ronald Wilson Reagan memorial monument in or around the state Capitol, without using any state money. See House Bill 6033

    The vote was 84 in favor, 20 opposed and 5 not voting

    Rep. Jamnick's "no vote explanation"

    Rep. Jamnick, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: "Mr. Speaker and members of the House: I voted against both HB 6033 and 6034 not because objection to President Reagan, but I do not think having a fiduciary role is a function of our Sate Government. Efforts such as this belong to us as Michigan individuals, not as a function of our government."
